There was a great deal of surprise today, as Premier Karpela announced his intentions to do away with the Socialist-Oriented Market Economy and return to the Planned Economy. The economy has been the subject of much debate between the divided party and the Old Red Banner Party considers this to be a great victory. Members of the New Red Banner Party withheld comments.

February 3rd, 1940 In response to the announcement of the murder of Rosovian immigrants within Vikingland without any attempt at repatriation, Comrade Karpela has ordered the preparation of forces in the Northern Theater, with the hope of convincing Vikingland of the serious nature of the situation. Commisar of the Military Ivan Vedenin has been appointed Marshal of the theater, and is expected to be prepared for anything. Basic mobilization of armed forces within other portions of the nation has been in effect for some time, and those forces are now being re-positioned accordingly. February 5th, 1940 Rosovian soldiers in the Western Theater have been instructed to mobilize and make their way to the Ostwen-Rosov border and begin building fortifications. Little information is being shared as to what the goal of these troops are, but Marshal Zemfira Voronina suggests it is due to Ostwen's recent hostile expansion and lack of communication with the Rosovian government. Basic mobilization will remain in effect for the other parts of the nation, but soldiers in the Eastern Theater are to begin drilling in amphibious invasions. The man responsible for the murder of Alban Senator Jean Winford has been detained. Authorities were alerted by concerned citizens, after he was heard bragging about having done so. He made no effort to hide the murder weapon which was used to confirm his involvement.
He has been sent on his way back to the Alba Highlands to be punished according to their laws.

President Draskovich and Premier Karpela would like to draw attention to the Commissariat of Services. They have maintained efficient public transportation on rails and on roads, despite the particularly rough winter.
